The lecture course gives an overview of personality development across the life span, with the main focus on adolescence and adulthood. The lectures will cover developmental aspects for a range of constructs, including the Big Five personality traits, self-esteem, narcissism, subjective well-being, and attachment styles. The lectures will address normative developmental trajectories, stability of individual differences, theories of personality development, influential factors (such as romantic relationships, work, and life events), and consequences of personality development.
The lecture will be live-streamed, and a podcast series will be created. However, there is no guarantee that the live stream and podcast will be available for all lectures (e.g., in case of technical problems).
Requirements: Passing a final written exam (graded, Calendar Week 5).
Readings: Information on readings will be provided at the beginning of the course.
Course specialization: The lecture course can be credited for a module in developmental psychology (45, 30, or 15 ECTS), in personality psychology, individual differences, and psychological assessment, as a facultative course in psychology, or as a facultative course in the Department of Business Administration. |
