Title |
Emotion and Motivation |
Description |
Why do I feel what I feel? Why are some people spurred on by difficult tasks and others put off by them? How can I regulate my emotions or change my motivation for a goal? And how do I manage to really realise a set intention?
These and other questions will be explored in this event. This is an introduction to the psychology of emotions and motivation, illustrated with many examples. Central historical and current theories will be covered. These include cognitive, behaviourist, evolutionary, peripheral physiological and neuroscientific concepts. Social and cultural influencing factors as well as emotion-relevant biases in information processing are also addressed. In addition, current research findings are integrated and discussed.
