Title |
Experimental Psychology Lab: Introduction to Programming in MATLAB |
Description |
The course is suitable for master students in psychology wanting to learn the basics of the MATLAB programming language. The focus of the course is not only on the specifics of MATLAB, but also on good programming skills in general, on structured and defensive programming -- this is useful and important for all programming languages. MATLAB is a reasonably easy to learn but nonetheless powerful programming language particularly suitable for all sciences, including experimental psychology: You can perform data analysis, modelling and simulations but also use it to control your experiments and data acquisition. MALTAB has become a standard programming language in many sciences and having some MATLAB experience is a clear bonus in research and industry.
To prepare for the course please ...
1. Bring your own laptop or netbook.
2. Have MATLAB already installed on your computer prior to the course. Ideally, you have a fairly recent version of MATLAB, preferable version 9.7 (release R2019b) or later.
Please note that the student version of MATLAB is sufficient; furthermore, you do not need any of the toolboxes for the course. |
