Title |
BA (MA) Theorie-/Wahlpflichtübung: Landscapes of law: violence, struggle and justice |
Description |
Be aware: if you sign in for the course, you signed in for the exam!
In this course we will consider both how different legal orders conceptualise land and landscapes as well as how land and landscapes are shaped by law. We will trace different approaches to justice from the grassroots through to international legal arenas. By doing so, the course will touch on how law is mobilised, contested and subverted in the struggle over land. Concretely questions such as how human rights paradigms intersect with people’s lived experience of their surroundings will help us ground theoretical questions about law in concrete examples which reflect law's power and impotence in today’s world. |
