Title Social Relationships and Health
Description Social relationships are linked to better health and a longer life expectancy. This seminar examines key social interaction processes that may explain this link (e.g. social isolation, social support, social control, and companionship). It introduces the theoretical concepts and key current findings, and, building on these, discusses intervention approaches.
Students will lead a session in small groups on a specific topic and write an academic blog post on a topic of their choice. Active participation in the seminar and reading the assigned literature are essential.
