| Description |
This course covers the design, development, and implementation of Excel-based decision support systems using various techniques from business analytics. The first part of the course consists of lectures and exercises, including an introduction to programming in Visual Basic for Applications, and a project; the latter consists of the development and implementation of a decision support system for a given planning situation.
To participate, please apply via email to bae.pqm@unibe.ch and include an up-to-date transcript. The successful completion of one of the courses, "Quantitative Methoden der Betriebswirtschaftslehre," "Methoden und Anwendungen des Operations Research," or "Combinatorial Optimization," is a prerequisite. There is a limited number of places, and priority will be given to students of the UniBE Master in Business Administration with special qualification in Business Analytics.
Please note that students should be able to implement a given optimization model in Microsoft Excel, use the solver add-in to find an optimal solution, and interpret the results. |
