| Title |
Stress and health behavior |
| Description |
Stress is a common part of everyday life for many people and can have a wide range of effects on our health and behavior. While chronic stress is associated with negative outcomes such as an increased risk of physical illnesses, mental disorders, and even higher mortality, stress can also enhance performance in certain situations.
But how exactly does stress influence our health? Which biological processes are involved? And how does stress affect our health behaviors - such as sleep, nutrition, or physical activity?
In this seminar, we will examine stress from a health psychology perspective. We will explore different facets of stress, discuss scientific evidence on its effects on health and health behaviors, and consider the mechanisms through which stress may exert these effects. In addition, we will look at intervention approaches that can help people cope with stress more effectively. |
