What Was Where? |
| Description |
Whether searching for the keys, finding the car again in a crowded parking lot, or explaining the way to the nearest supermarket – every day we are required to remember the location of objects in space and orient ourselves accordingly. Spatial memory, a fascinating and often overlooked area of cognitive psychology, forms the foundation of our orientation, navigation, and memory for spatial information. But how do we store and retrieve information about our environment?
In this seminar, we will explore this question in depth and develop a broad overview of approaches to researching spatial memory. We will cover both theoretical foundations and current empirical research, neuropsychological mechanisms, and selected areas of application. In addition, we will address open questions and existing research gaps in order to discuss potential directions for future studies. |
