Title |
Physical Chemistry I: Thermodynamics for minor students, incl. Exercises |
Description |
The course provides a comprehensive introduction to chemical thermodynamics. Initially, the fundamental laws of thermodynamics and concepts of energy, energy transformations, and energy balance, as well as reversibility and irreversibility, are introduced. Then, we investigate the thermodynamic treatment of chemical reactions, phase equilibria, and mixtures. The relationship of chemical thermodynamics to sustainability and sustainable development, as well as the approaches to the analysis of the environmental impact of various processes using thermodynamic methods, are addressed in the course. |
