Course schedule and prerequisites:
The event consists of two blocks

The first sessions are a mandatory refresher on scientific working techniques and the content and structure of the research design. The most important criteria to be considered when writing the concept paper will be presented. In addition, the dates for the discussion of the master concepts are set. For each concept, discussants will be chosen from the group of participants who will critically analyze the concept.

In the second part of the event, the discussion of the doctoral and master thesis concepts will be divided into topics.
The discussion of the concepts is structured as follows:
- The concept must be submitted to the supervisor for review at least 3 weeks before the discussion, so that there is enough time for revision.
- The written concept will be sent to the discussant and all participants at least one week before the presentation (Tuesday).
- Each concept will be presented by a discussant who will present the basic elements of the research design and critically evaluate the quality of the research design (ambiguities; possible missing elements; questions of understanding; etc.). The concept author will then have 5 minutes to answer the questions before we move into a group discussion in which everyone can participate.

Throughout the semester, external guest speakers - completed Master's students, PhD students and PostDocs - will be invited to share their experiences and give a concrete insight into scientific work by reporting on their successes and difficulties in creating the research design.
