Title Specialist Course: Computational High Energy Physics
Description This course covers the basics of computational aspects related to the simulation of High Energy Physics collider experiments.
The first part focuses on the standard pipeline starting from the Lagrangian of the theory studied (e.g. the Standard Model) down to event generation and subsequent detector simulation with comparison to data.
The second half concerns methods to account for higher-order corrections, and the theoretical challenges they entail.
Each two-hour lecture is accompanied by a hands-on one-hour practice with a pedagogical code allowing attendants to familiarise themselves through practice with the methods introduced.
